Harriet Tubman Network

The Harriet Tubman Network (HTN) is a chaplain group dedicated to matching qualified women chaplains with current veteran servicewomen in need of spiritual counseling for moral injuries suffered during their military service. Named in honor of the deeply religious, courageous, and strong leader of the Underground Railroad, HTN supports women in their darkest hours and guides them to a place of personal freedom, empowerment and strength.

The network is directed by Chaplain Karen Meeker, an Army chaplain colonel serving in the office of The Surgeon General. HTN is not affiliated with the military, but it serves women who are still serving in the military or who have been retired or discharged.

Our Network Qualifications

Our chaplains are highly qualified ministers. They possess Master of Divinity (or equivalent) degrees and at least two years of experience as religious professionals. They volunteer their services while we provide them training on moral injury and cover them with liability insurance.

HTN provides emotional and spiritual support, pastoral counseling, and referrals to other services. Other services would be mental health counseling, government support, and shelters. Chaplains provide pastoral support and counseling services within the limits of their training, education, and denominational mandates.

HTN Chaplains provide services to those who are:

  • Struggling to cope with their current situation,
  • In need of advice,
  • Looking to reconnect with their faith,
  • Looking for a new faith,
  • Finding a new path,
  • Trying to interpret life through a spiritual lens, etc.

Offering help, Free of charge

HTN provides services free of charge and is open to servicewomen from the U.S. and Canadian armed forces.

Privacy Policy

We will not share your information with anyone outside of the network. The only people who will have access to your information are the Intake Specialist, the Chaplain who provides support, and the Director of the Network. If we recommend that you be referred to another provider outside of HTN, we will receive your expressed permission to do so. Otherwise, your information is safe with us. We will NEVER sell, trade, or share your information with ANYONE other than those necessary to provide the support you need. Email droberts@chaplainconsultants.com if you have any questions about this policy.

A complaint and investigation process has also been instituted in case a woman ever feels that she is mistreated by one of our chaplains. Of course, we don’t expect that to happen, but misunderstandings do occur. Every complaint will be thoroughly and fairly investigated.
